Cooper City, FL custom closets and home organization

Walk-in and kids' closets, garage cabinets and mudroom storage for Cooper City family homes. Start with a free in-home consultation and a 3D design.

Custom Closet Installation

Closet Décor & More plans custom closets, garage systems and household storage for Cooper City homes and installs them. The city is in Broward County, south of our Coral Springs office, between Davie to the north and Pembroke Pines to the south, with Southwest Ranches to the west and Hollywood to the east. The consultation is free and takes place in your home, where the designer measures, draws the system with you in 3D and then gives you a price.

Morris Cooper's city

Cooper City is named for Morris Cooper, who founded the community in 1959; it was incorporated on June 20 that year. The census counted 550 residents in 1960 and 34,401 in 2020, and the city's motto is "Someplace Special." A large recent addition was the former Waldrep Dairy Farm. Founded in 1928, it was the last working dairy farm in Broward and Miami-Dade counties when it closed. The land was sold to TOUSA Homes in 2003 and later annexed by the city, and construction on Monterra, planned for about 1,900 homes, began in 2006. Neighborhoods include Embassy Lakes and Rock Creek, which together gave Embassy Creek Elementary its name.

This is a city of houses. Census Bureau estimates show about three-quarters of homes are detached, another 16% are townhouses and other attached homes, and only about 7% are in buildings with five or more units. The median home was built in 1987, and about 86% are owner-occupied. At the 2020 census, 44% of households included children under 18.

That points to bedroom closets that have to keep up with growing kids. A kids' closet can start with low rods, cubbies and bins, then move up to higher rods and more hanging space as clothes get longer. For parents, a walk-in closet with drawers, double hanging and shoe shelves replaces the builder's single shelf and rod. Newer homes often come with basic wire shelving, and a custom closet system is designed around what you actually own.

Garages, mudrooms and family gear

In a family house, bikes, balls, sports bags and coolers all compete for the garage floor. Brian Piccolo Park, which hosted a first-class cricket match between the United States and Canada in 2004, is one of the places that gear comes home from. Wall-mounted cabinets, slatwall and overhead racks from our garage storage systems get them off the slab, and a workbench gives you somewhere to fix a chain or pump a tire. Swisstrax floor tiles can cover stained concrete. Broward's place in the Florida Building Code's High-Velocity Hurricane Zone means an impact-rated garage door, and overhead racks are positioned so the door can still travel freely past them. Tall cabinets keep hurricane-season supplies together.

The door between the garage and the house is where shoes, backpacks and keys pile up. A mudroom or drop zone with hooks, cubbies and a bench is one of the unique spaces we design. Parents who work from home can add home office cabinetry to a spare bedroom, with file drawers, shelving and a desk surface sized to the room.

If your neighborhood has a gate or a homeowners association, tell the gate when the designer and installers are coming, and check the association's rules on work hours.

Neighbors in Davie, Pembroke Pines and Hollywood work with the same design team. Your first step is a free design consultation at home; you'll see the 3D design and the price before deciding anything.

Cooper City questions

How do you design a closet for a child who will keep growing?

The rods and shelves are adjustable, so the designer can set them low with cubbies and bins for a young child and show you in 3D how they'd move up for a teenager. You see the starting layout at the free consultation, before you approve a quote.

What can you do with the builder shelving in a newer Cooper City home?

The designer measures each closet and designs rods, shelves and drawers to replace it, built around your clothes, shoes and accessories. You'll choose finishes and hardware from samples the designer brings, and you can adjust the 3D design together before you get a quote.

Is Cooper City part of your service area?

Yes. Cooper City is one of the 30 cities we serve, south of our Coral Springs office. The designer does everything at your home, from showing finish and hardware samples to measuring and building the 3D design, and the quote follows. The phone line, (954) 900-9983, is open from 7am to 9pm every day.

David and his team delivered on time at a price point that was much more competitive than the competition. His crew was highly professional, and the closet was delivered when promised. Lastly, the quality of the cabinets and the installation accuracy were a hundred percent!

Emil, Chris and Chris Jr. Installed 3 closets in my home. Fast, neat, professional and just really nice people. I am so happy with the way everything turned out. Great company to deal with and well worth the wait for my installation. I highly recommend them.

David and team were great. Going in they were not our first choice, however after consultation with several companies, we felt that Closet Decor and More offered the best solution at the best price. We made the decision!
