Garage Man Cave Makeover Ideas

So, you have a lot of space in your custom garage and are unsure what to do with it. You have all these tools and appliances on hand. They just need a place to look cool.

If that’s you, here are a few ideas for your garage man cave makeover:

  • A tool/repair center
  • Sports and entertainment area
  • A bar
  • A place for your hunting or fishing gear
  • Make it a display for your luxury vehicle

Continue reading to get plenty of ideas for constructing the ultimate man cave!

Tool Station

If you enjoy working on building projects, consider creating a custom tool station. Give yourself plenty of space to hold your tools, wood, nails, and finished masterpieces.

For a well-stocked tool center, invest in the following items:

  • Workbench
  • Assembly Table
  • Several Cabinets & Shelves
  • Hooks and Hangers
  • (Optional) Power Drill Organizer

Before setting up your garage, pay attention to the ventilation. To prevent your workstation from feeling stuffy, avoid setting up anything near windows or vents.

Garage Workbench

Sports and Entertainment Center

NFL, NHL, NBA, MLS, MLB, and so many other major sports leagues exist. Each game brings some level of excitement, anticipation, suspense, and sometimes anger. What better way to enjoy this rollercoaster of emotions than inside a comfy entertainment area? It’s even better when you have friends over for a guy’s night.

Keep in mind that an entertainment center will require a solid electrical layout. Multiple electrical outlets will reduce the need for messy extension cables. You can easily plug in any desired appliance. It also wouldn’t be a bad idea to use an extension cord to plug in your mini-fridge. Slide the fridge close to the couch and you can grab drinks with ease.

Some furniture you’ll need for a good setup includes the following:

  • Flat-screen TV (ideally larger than 42 inches)
  • Mini fridge for storing beer, soda, and water
  • Couch and/or recliners for you and your guests
  • Long coffee table to hold your snacks
  • (Optional but preferred) home speakers

For your memorabilia, invest in some frames or small shelves to display prized autograph jerseys, perhaps one signed by Tom Brady!

A Bar

After a long, hard day’s work, it’s nice to unwind with a good drink to take your mind off of things. What better way to do that than to make a nice drink in your own bar?

What you’ll need to make a nice bar area includes:

  • Long Countertop
  • Barstools
  • Multiple Long Shelves
  • Cabinets
  • Mini Fridge with Ice Maker
  • Small TV
  • Area Speakers (optional)

When you go to an actual bar, there are lots of seats, shelves, lights, and, most of the time, decent music. To have a similar experience, invest in a few barstools and a long countertop. It’s best to have them close to a wall for support purposes.

Garage Storage Systems

Hunting/Fishing Gear Area

For those of you who live to hunt & fish, the garage is a great place for storing your gear and keepsakes. Display your gear using racks & hooks to hold fishing rods, rope, & tackle equipment.

Showcase Your Luxury Vehicle

Ironically, not many people use their garage for its intended purpose. It’s often easier to park outside if there’s too much stuff in the garage. If you own a luxury car, you probably do everything you can to protect it!

You can use your garage for more than just protection; you can also use it to display your elegant ride. Before doing this, you’ll want to redo the floor. Concrete won’t compliment the look of your car. Cover it with flooring that is safe for cars. Swisstrax rubber tiles are a long-lasting, versatile option to consider.

Try to paint the walls a color that matches or compliments your car. In the back of the garage, install a few cabinets to hold your car cleaning and maintenance tools.

Conclusion

There are a lot of creative ideas you can try to customize your garage man cave. It doesn’t have to just house your car. It can be a great hangout spot for friends, a space for your handmade creations, or a place to showcase your prized possessions. The choice is yours!  Your imagination is the limit!
